Magnetica’s new Brisbane location and manufacturing facility

As we work to complete the commercialisation of our compact MRI system for dedicated MSK (musculoskeletal) extremity imaging applications, the Brisbane-based team has expanded to a point where we completely outgrew our long-term facility located in the suburb of Eagle Farm. In mid-2022 we secured a lease on a larger facility in the suburb of Northgate, part of a new multi-unit complex being built at 115 Frederick Street. Initially getting access to the new facility in March once construction was complete, we have steadily worked to transfer the team, plant and equipment over to the new facility. We completed our relocation activities in mid-September, culminating in the return of the Eagle Farm facility to the Landlord. 

Our new facility at Unit 4, 115 Frederick Street in Northgate, has 3 x the floor area when compared with the previous Eagle Farm facility, providing much needed space for the team to expand, whilst also enabling us to prepare for the pending growth phase of the business, as we get set to launch and start to market our MRI system (subject to obtaining the relevant regulatory approvals). Due to a lack of space to work whilst we were based at Eagle Farm, remote working was a necessity for the team as a standard part of their week. However, it has been a pleasure to be able to have more of the team in the office every day since moving to our new home, enhancing team collaboration, communication and cohesion.

We also welcome the opportunity to host our wider stakeholder community at other times to share the excitement we have of being in our new Head Office and manufacturing facility, at this critical time in our commercialisation and growth journey as a medical device company!
